Mine and Moriah's t-shirts this morning. You can imagine the fright I had when I picked Moriah up from her exersaucer, heard a "snap" and saw blood gushing from her. I yelled for her Primary Nurse, Emily, and she and Nurse Christy, Nurse Jackie, and Nurse Amy all came running into the room when I said she was bleeding. Meanwhile, Moriah was happy as a clam and didn't feel a thing while I was shaking and crying, not knowing what happened. Turns out, I snapped her broviac (a permanent IV) in half. Great.
They are getting someone to see if it can be repaired. If not, a new one has to be placed because they cannot transfer without reliable access. I don't know if we're ever going to go home. Still haven't heard from either CHLA or Huntington either.
Please continue to pray for everything to be worked out. We know it will, but maybe for a little bit of a smoother transition. =)
Thanks.
Love,
Victoria

Oh my goodness! What a terrifying experience! Those broviacs can cause quite the problems... When they removed Caden's a piece broke off inside him and they had to do another surgery to get it out. I really hope they will be able to repair hers. Still praying for a smooth transition. You have been through SOOO much!
Hang in there! Hopefully they can work wonders on her broviac. Definitely a scary thing. We're thinking of you all and praying you get "home" soon.
Yikes, that looks scary...I am SO glad it wasn't an issue causing her pain. You are such a strong family, and I really hope that the end of this long journey is near and you are home where you belong VERY soon.
Oh, how scary! I'm so sorry Victoria!
Oh my goodness! i about cried when I read this! I know the feeling, ugh, that sound, it's a sound you'll always know. I split Brandon's, I was flushing it at RMH so that I could give him his antibiotics. Kyle had gone to the airport to pick up Callie's parents, so I was alone and didn't have any clamps handy. I found some, called Kyle who came back as soon as he could and off to 3E we went. it took 8 hours to get it fixed, got released and were in not even a week later with Ecoli again and that's when we lost it permantly! I'm sorry it snapped!
