I have to say that this trip wouldn't have been possible without the help of our Nurses drawing up meds to last a lifetime, Eric installing an inverter in our car to plug in M's vent and humidifier, Papa and GG helping us with the van, and my Dad driving his own car to carry our truckload of medical equipment and supplies. We also have to give a huge shout out to My Best Homecare who is probably so irritated by how much we bugged them in order to get oxygen tanks for the trip. If you are in the Bay Area and you are looking for a fantastic supply company for durable medical equipment, they're where it's at.
A lot of planning, preparation, and participation from others went into making this happen.
Here is a picture of Nurse Shannon's hubby, Eric, sitting with a sleeping beauty
And here is the set up he created for our car. That black box (the inverter) is what powered M's vent and humidifier the whole time. That man is a genius, I tell ya.
We had no events driving down, thankfully. The trip took a total of 7 hours, and the kids did great. I just sat in the back praying the whole time =)
Yes, this was one of the most enjoyable trips I've ever had because it was with my whole family, but yes, this was also one of the most exhausting trips Justin and I have ever had. We will probably max out on doing these vacations 2/year...and then we will need a vacation to recover from the vacation =)
But seriously, thank you, guys, for making this possible. These memories with our children are ones that Justin and I will have forever.
And to us, this was priceless.
