Olivia's 1st Birthday Party

We recently had Olivia's 1st Birthday Party. 

It was a Halloween Costume Party...brought to you by Pinterest =)

Once, we had the party set up...

it was time to play dress up!

Olivia was Tinkerbell, Jadon was Peter Pan, and Moriah, Justin, and I were pirates. 

I can't believe she was in my belly just one year ago!

I so wanted a good picture of all of us, but after about 10 shots like this

We settled on this one. 

I've had to let go of my perfectionist tendencies once having children.

This will do.

And this one too.

We were so happy Philippe and Baba came up to celebrate our little Tinkerbell, and they were such a huge help with everything

I mean, all hands are on deck when you have a pumpkin craft table with little ones!

But, I think the kids enjoyed it. Again, I have to do some major letting go with the kids getting messy

And I had to take lots of deep breaths with this one and the slime

I eventually took it away, but then she looked at me with her big brown eyes and signed "more," so I gave it back to her immediately.

It was her Birthday celebration...and I was the one with the bright idea to put out the slime.

I'm not sure if our mama friends hated me or not for having it =)

Thankfully, our friends seem really forgiving.

We are so happy to have had all the wonderful people there to celebrate Olivia.

And even though it was Moriah's nap time, she was so happy to have seen Vivian in the beginning

The girls were too cute in their costumes

Olivia kept her Birthday hat on for about 1/2 a second

We all sang "Happy Birthday"

And she had the best cake smash I've ever seen

She had her first piece of cake...and she was kind enough to share with her Daddy

Baba was such a good sport and gave every child whatever piece of the rainbow cake they requested

Daddy helped Olivia (who had to be undressed after the cake smash) open her presents

It takes everything in me to not grit my teeth and imagine squeezing her juicy rolls. 

I'm obsessed with this kid.

It was such a fun 1st Birthday for this little girl!

Pumpkin Patch 2014

The day after our Bollywood Birthday Bash, the whole family took a trip to the Pumpkin Patch. 

Our family tradition is to always go to Usuegi Farm the first weekend of October, but the temperature was going to be 100 degrees that day. We said forget it (what's up with all this crazy warm weather this late in the season?)

So, we headed to Half Moon Bay, where it would be about 20 degrees cooler, to try out Pastorino's Pumpkin Patch. 

(to be honest, I'm not sure we will go again because the traffic was horrible to get into HMB. It took 1 hour to drive 5 miles). 

In the end, we all made it safe and sound.

Moriah was so happy to be with her Maji, and didn't mind being dressed like her sister that day

Last year, Olivia was a little pumpkin in my belly, and this year she was playing with the pumpkins. 

And beating them.

Whenever cousin Skyler is around, Jadon is attached to him at the hip. Skyler is such a good big cousin, and took Jadon on all the attractions.

To our surprise, there was a cute little petting zoo

And Summer picked up a little chicken for Moriah to see...right in front of the sign there that said not to pick up the animals. Whoops ;-)

We enjoyed a hay ride...around the parking lot...I mean, farm.

And Uncle Alex held onto Preston the Divo and Olivia the Diva. 

These two are so similar in their faces, mannerisms, temperaments, etc.

ACTUALLY, all three of them are kind of in the same boat...or trailer.

This is what we saw once we got past the parking lot.

We finally got around to picking our pumpkins. THIS is the one my very opinionated Moriah wanted. She was extremely adamant about it.

Thank goodness Justin was there to carry it. 

Even though it wasn't our traditional pumpkin patch, we still had a lot of fun with the family.

We might see you next year Pastorino's.
